Fulham slam £50m price tag on Sessegnon

Fulham are set to demand £50m from Tottenham Hotspur for teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon, according to the Express.

The full-back is one of the hottest properties in English football and has long been linked with a switch to North London though Spurs will not be able to sign him on the cheap.

Last season’s Premier League runners-up had a £25m bid for the seventeen year old rejected in the summer, and they could now need to shell out twice as much if they are to have any chance of securing his services.

Sessegnon broke into Fulham’s first team last season and racked up thirty appearances in all competitions, scoring an impressive seven goals.

This season he has appeared in all eleven of the Whites league games with his only goal of the season so far coming in the 1-1 draw with league leaders Cardiff City at Craven Cottage last month.

Rickie Lambert announces retirement

Former Southampton and Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert has announced his retirement from playing professional football, according to the Mail Online.

The thirty-five most recently played for Cardiff City, racking up nineteen appearances for them last season and scoring four goals though he has been without a club since and decided to call time on a career that has spanned almost twenty years.

Having spent the majority of his career in the lower leagues, Lambert achieved promotion to the Premier League with Southampton in 2012 when he was also named the Championship’s Player of the Year.

He continued to impress in the top flight for the Saints with his form earning him full international recognition and a move to the team he supported as a child, Liverpool.

He won a total of eleven caps for England, scoring three goals with one of those outings coming as a substitute in the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
